GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE BEE HOSTEL B.V. (REGISTERED WITH THE DUTCH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE UNDER NUMBER 76512460, “THE BEE HOSTEL”). 


1. Definitons and interpretation

1.1. In these Terms and Conditions, unless the context otherwise requires, the following
expressions have the following meanings:
Customer: The natural person(s) to whom one or more hospitality services must be provided
by The Bee Hostel at a price payable by the Customer;
The Bee Hostel: The Bee Hostel location to which the reservation applies;
Rates: the prices payable for beds and (where applicable) other facilities offered by The Bee
Hostel;
No Show: A guest not arriving at the hostel on the date of arrival of their reservation without
prior notice to The Bee Hostel. 

2. Bookings and Reservations 

2.1. Customers may make reservations in advance through The Bee Hostel’s website or third  party booking websites on which The Bee Hostel is advertised.  

2.2. Customers are required to provide identification (passport or driver’s license) and information  including, but not limited to, their name, address, contact telephone number, nationality and  email address. In case no authorised credit card can be presented, The Bee Hostel withholds  the right to deny entrance to the hostel.  

2.3. Customer shall pay the reservation in full at least 48 hours prior to arrival.  2.4. Reservations booked in advance do not constitute a legally binding contract between The  Bee Hostel and the Customer until The Bee Hostel confirms the reservation with the  Customer and provides the Customer with a booking reference.  

2.5. The Customer may request a change to his/her reservation at any time prior to arrival  (subject to the cancellation provisions set out in Clause 4 below). The Bee Hostel will use all  reasonable endeavours to accommodate any changes requested but gives no guarantee that  all changes can be accommodated.  

2.6. Reservations are not required. Customers may make bookings on arrival however The Bee  Hostel cannot guarantee the availability of rooms or other facilities for such bookings. The  Bee Hostel does not accept walk-in reservations after 23:00hrs.  

2.7. Customers may request additional nights at The Bee Hostel at any time during their stay. The  Bee Hostel will use all reasonable endeavours to accommodate such requests.  2.8. For reservations for groups of more than 10 persons, Customer is required to send an email  to The Bee hostel for the request of a group reservation. The Bee Hostel will then verify  whether such reservation is possible. If separate reservations are made resulting in a group 1  of more than 10 persons, The Bee Hostel holds the right to refuse such a group upon check in.  

2.9. The Bee Hostel reserves the right to reject requests for reservations or cancel them if it has  proof that, due to the characteristics of the Customer or the intended use of the reservation, it  is morally justified to refuse the request for reservation based on widely recognized and  accepted ethical values and human rights.

 

3. Fees and Payment 

3.1. Details of Rates including, where applicable, promotional Rates and other special offers are  available on The Bee Hostel’s website.  

3.2. Rates and prices quoted when making reservations only apply to accommodation unless  otherwise stated. Additional charges may apply including, but not limited to City tax, food,  drinks and other services The Bee Hostel might be offering. These additional charges are to  be paid on the spot.  

3.3. The Bee Hostel may from time to time offer promotional Rates. The following provision  applies:  

3.3.1. Additional nights requested under sub-Clause 2.7 above shall be charged at the  standard published Rate.  

3.4. The Bee Hostel may offer non-refundable Rates. The following provisions apply:  3.4.1. Advance payments made under sub-Clause 3.4 above are non-refundable.  3.4.2. Any deposits or booking fees paid at the time of reservation are non-refundable.  3.5. The following payment methods are accepted by The Bee Hostel:  

3.5.1. Credit Cards – Visa, Mastercard.  

3.5.2. Debit Cards – Maestro, Vpay.  

3.5.3. We do not accept cash at any currency.  

 

4. Cancellations 

4.1. Subject to sub-Clause 4.2 below, reservations may be cancelled without charge if the  Customer gives notice before 15:00hrs on to the date of arrival (local GMT time) of their  reservation. Any sums paid in advance to The Bee Hostel shall be refunded to the Customer.  

4.2. In the event that the Customer has paid in advance under the provisions of sub-Clause 3.4,  no refunds shall be made in the event of cancellation.  

4.3. Failure to provide the required notice of cancellation before 15:00hrs on the day of arrival  shall result in the Customer being charged for one night’s accommodation at the Rate  specified in their reservation.  

4.4. In case of a No Show the Customer is charged for their full stay. No refund will be provided.  

4.5. In case of a No Show the subsequent nights, if any, will be cancelled. Therefore, the  Customer must inform the Bee Hostel if he/she is delayed getting to The Bee Hostel.  

4.6. The Bee Hostel may, in an exceptional case, cancel a reservation. In the event of such  cancellation, the Customer shall be informed immediately and shall be offered a full refund of any and all sums paid. Where a refund is offered under this sub-Clause 4.6 only, the  provisions of sub-clauses 3.4 and 4.2 pertaining to advance payments shall not apply and a  refund shall be payable.

 

5. Check-in and Check-out 

5.1. Customers can check-in at The Bee Hostel from 3pm.  

5.2. Check-out time at The Bee Hostel is 12pm. Failure to check-out by 12pm may result in the  Customer being charged for an additional night’s accommodation at the standard applicable  Rate.  

5.3. A key/card and/or a coded bracelet is provided during the Check-in process, giving the  Customer access to the room. The Bee Hostel may charge the Customer a small deposit  which may be paid back to the Customer upon handing the card/bracelet back to the host  upon checkout.  

5.4. Only Customers with a valid reservation are allowed to enter The Bee Hostel.

 

6. Hostel Rules 

6.1. Customers are required to always behave in a reasonable and responsible manner when  staying at The Bee Hostel and must not act in any way which may disturb other guests. Any  Customer who, in the opinion of our staff, disrupts the comfort, safety or security of other  guests, staff or local residents is required to leave the hostel premises and will not be given a  refund and all sums due shall become immediately payable.  

6.2. Customers shall be charged for any and all damage caused by them to The Bee Hostel’s  property during their stay. A minimum additional cleaning penalty of € 250 will be applied in  case of an extremely dirty bed and/or sleeping dorm area. In case Customer used a credit  card for the reservation, the Customer hereby agrees that The Bee Hostel may deduct this  penalty amount via the credit card.  

6.3. Smoking traditional and electronic cigarettes is not permitted in any indoor area of The Bee  Hostel. Failure to adhere to these requirements shall result in the Customer being charged for  any and all costs incurred by The Bee Hostel in cleaning the room (including, but not limited  to, fixtures, fittings and soft furnishings), restoring it to a smoke-free environment and paying  off local fire hazard penalties and costs with a minimum of € 400,00 per case for The Bee  Hostel. The Bee Hostel will subsequently instruct the Customer to leave the premises  immediately. A refund will not be issued.  

6.4. No animals are allowed in The Bee Hostel.  

6.5. The Bee Hostel maintains a maximum stay of 14 days for Customers.  

6.6. The Bee Hostel’s facilities are not suitable for children under the age of 6 years old. Children  under the age of 6 years old may not stay at The Bee Hostel. Children under the age of 16  need to be accompanied by an adult, children under the age of 18 years are required to  provide The Bee Hostel’s parental authorization form prior to check-in. 

6.7. Any Customer found using drugs (including the use of marihuana in any form) within The Bee  Hostel will be asked to leave the premises immediately. A refund will not be issued.  6.8. We do not serve alcohol to anyone under the age of 18.  

6.9. The Bee Hostel reserves the right to inspect Customer’s bed and sleeping area after one  week, in order to dust and clean. 

 

7. Food and Drinks 

7.1. Unless expressly indicated otherwise, food and drinks are not included in any Rates and will  be charged for in accordance with sub-Clause 3.2 above.  

 

8. Limitation of Liability 

8.1. To the fullest extent permissible by law, The Bee Hostel’s liability for any loss or damage  suffered by Customers shall be limited to that which arises out of the negligence of The Bee  Hostel’s employees, subcontractors or agents.  

8.2. Notwithstanding sub-Clause 8.1 above, The Bee Hostel shall not be liable for any indirect  loss or damage which may be suffered by a Customer including, but not limited to, loss of  income, loss of business, loss of profits, loss of opportunity, loss of anticipated savings, loss  of data or lack of enjoyment.  

8.3. The Bee Hostel shall not be liable for damage to or loss of goods that were taken to The Bee  Hostel by a Customer. The Customer indemnifies The Bee Hostel against claims in  connection therewith. The provisions set forth here are not applicable to the extent that the  damage or the loss can be blamed on intent or gross negligence of The Bee Hostel.  

8.4. Liability of The Bee Hostel is limited to the amount that can within reason be insured.  8.5. The Bee Hostel provides personally accessible, well-functioning lockers to every Customer.  Nonetheless, The Bee Hostel shall not be liable for any loss and/or damage to items stored  by the Customer in the locker.  

 

9. General 

The Bee Hostel may, from time to time, change these Terms and Conditions without notice, however it  will use its reasonable endeavours to inform Customers as soon as is reasonably possible of any such  changes. 

 

10. Data Protection 

The Bee Hostel processes personal data in accordance with the current legislation (the “GDPR”). The  Bee Hostel refers to its privacy statement. 

 

11. Force Majeure  

11.1. Every foreseen or unforeseen, foreseeable, or unforeseeable, circumstance that  hinders the implementation of the agreement between The Bee Hostel and the Customer  such that the implementation of the hospitality agreement becomes impossible or burdensome (such as natural disasters, flooding, earthquake damage etc.) shall be qualified  as force majeure on the part of The Bee Hostel that implies that a potential thus occurring  shortcoming of the hospitality business cannot be blamed on the same.  

 

12. Lost and Found  

12.1. Objects lost or left behind in The Bee Hostel that are found by the Customer must  directly be presented to a representative of The Bee Hostel. 

12.2. The Bee Hostel acquires the title of objects of which the rightful owner did not report to  The Bee Hostel within one year after the object was left behind at The Bee Hostel. 12.3. If The Bee Hostel sends objects left behind by the Customer to the Customer, this  shall take place entirely at the risk and expense of the Customer. 

 

13. Law and Jurisdiction 

13.1. These Terms and Conditions (including any non-contractual matters and obligations  arising therefrom or associated therewith) shall be governed by, and construed in accordance  with, Dutch law.  

13.2. Any dispute, controversy, proceedings or claim between the Parties relating to these  Terms and Conditions (including any non-contractual matters and obligations arising  therefrom or associated therewith) shall fall within the jurisdiction of the courts of The  Netherlands.  

13.3. The invalidity of one or more of the provisions of these Terms and Conditions shall not  affect the validity of all other provisions. If a provision of these Terms and Conditions appears  to be invalid, for any reason whatsoever, then the parties are deemed to have stipulated a  valid alternative provision that best approaches the scope and application of the invalid  provision.
